about

Written for "Songs Of The City"

For Now is a song that I wrote in early 2020 as part of the "Songs Of The City" Series. The song came about as a result of one person's story and journey.

lyrics

It’s a real life but it’s my life
I might die on these streets tonight
But there’s never enough
And it’s always so tough for me.

I’ve been shattered to my very soul
But I’m ready to face all the facts
I’m not you, I’m just me
And that’s all I can be for now

Can you see what I see?
I move on but I never look back
Pull in close, One small dose
For a while there’s no pain
and there’s no doubt

It’s been six months and I haven’t sinned
Well, maybe that once in July
Keep trying to stay strong
And I keep holding on for now

Four strong walls I can call my own
Is all that really matters to me
And I fight to change
But it always stays the same for me

Can you see what I see?
I move on but I never look back
Pull in close, I still got hope
For now there’s no pain
and there’s no doubt

For now there’s no pain
and there really ain’t no shame

For now there’s no pain
and there’s no doubt
